In order to revitalize the area the Orono Business Improvement Area (BIA), the Clarington Board of Trade and Office of Economic Development (CBOT), as well as the Municipality of Clarington are partnering to develop a strategy to attract new business and investment to Orono. The Economic Development Strategy for Orono will implement Council Policies from the Municipality of Clarington’s Official Plan. The strategy will support the needs of Orono’s urban residents and surrounding rural population, to help create a complete and sustainable community by promoting Orono’s businesses and downtown; increasing the housing options; and promoting the development and redevelopment of Orono’s employment lands.
