Downtown Whitby

Downtown Whitby is a destination with historic architecture and an eclectic mix of businesses and services. From the verandas of Pearson Lanes’ boutiques housed in a historic development, to the distinctive restaurants and shops surrounding the ‘four corners’ at Dundas and Brock streets, Downtown Whitby is home to more than 450 businesses. In a typical year, Whitby hosts over 200 community events, including the Whitby Farmer's Market (May to October), Whitby Heritage Day, Beer Fest, and Christmas Market.

Downtown Brooklin

Founded in 1840, Downtown Brooklin is a designated heritage conservation district in north Whitby. Many of the local businesses are run out of historic homes, such as restaurants with regionally sourced ingredients, charming home décor boutiques, and pubs with welcoming patios. Downtown Brooklin is highly walkable, with a hardware store, pharmacy and yoga and dance studios, and in a typical year is home to numerous festivals and events including the historic Brooklin Spring Fair.
